Noise Cancelling Technology Built into a Fully Functional VHF with DSC The ICOM IC-M400BB VHF Marine Transceiver is loaded with special features all in a space saving two-piece design. All functions can be controlled from the hand piece which means the black box can be installed out of sight, freeing up valuable space for additional marine electronics. The IC-M400BB is easy to use with its new intuitive user interface. The unit features an impressive built-in bidirectional noise cancelling system that reduces up to 90% of background noise. The 10 watt loud audio ensures radio transmissions are received loud and clear which is important in case of emergency situations. The ICOM IC-M400BB also has a public address function that allows you to use the microphone as a loud speaker as well as a fog horn. Even while you are receiving another channel, the built-in DCS monitors the DSC channel activity for your safety. DSC functions include distress, individual, group, all ships, urgency, safety, position request/report, polling request, and DSC test calls. Additional features include connectivity to an external GPS receiver using the common NMEA interface which allows you to view your current position and time on the hand piece. Information from another vessel can also be transferred to a navigational device using the NMEA 0183 connectivity. With the IC-M400BB you will not have to worry about audio quality. The unit is fully waterproof and features the unique AquaQuake draining system, which works by clearing water out of the speaker grill. All these features of the IC-M400BB will add a sense of safety and security to you boating experience.
